Stop Depriving Yourself And Give In To Your Deepest Desires

If you’ve ever been on a diet, you know that as soon as you dive in you feel a sense of deprivation that doesn’t go away until it’s over. Depriving yourself of your favorite desserts, treats and foods can make you feel so empty inside that it takes strong determination and will power to continue to deny yourself of these foods.

Many of us torture ourselves in this way because we think this is the only option we have to drop unwanted pounds. But what if I told you that by depriving yourself in this way, you’re actually setting yourself up for failure right from the start and your chances of losing weight and keeping it off are slim (pun intended)?

Mostly because when you end the diet you give yourself permission to eat the food that makes you feel good, comforted, loved, etc and you begin over-indulging in them to make up for lost time. Thus, a vicious cycle ensues.

So, what if there was a different way – an approach to losing weight that didn’t make you feel like you were missing out on the things you love? Well, there is and I’ll tell you how to do it.

First, you need to take a look at a few areas of your life and examine how you’re doing in those areas. On a piece of paper, write down all the activities you engage in on a regular basis (once a day, once a week and so on) that feed you on a different level than food. What are the things you do to nourish your heart and soul? What do you do to give yourself love, nurturing, pleasure, and joy? When you look at your list you’ll see whether or not you are tapping into your deepest desires and giving into them.

When was the last time you gave in to your desire to take a trip, sign up for a class/program, take the day off to chill, start that new business you’ve dreamed of, write the book inside you that is dying to be told, apply for your dream job, move to a new city, get a massage, hire a housekeeper, start living big, and live every day with passion and intention?

If you are suppressing your desires and making excuses as to why you don’t deserve to act on them, there is no food in the world that can fill in the void. The solution is to begin giving into your deepest desires and your desire to eat food to make you feel good, comforted and loved will become a thing of the past.

Trust me…I know that living your life with passion fills you up in a way that NO piece of chocolate cake can do. So, I invite you to fill yourself up – starting today in ways that make you feel good from the inside out and notice the shift that happens.
